Beyond one-to-one research, there's a community.
I provide educational and community programming through spanDNA Families. This programming welcomes individuals, families, family groups, communities, organizations, and institutions from many backgrounds, and it centers people and families of African descent. Through this programming, Human Temple Therapeutics and spanDNA PBC may collaborate with nonprofit partners, such as the Edward A. Ulzen Memorial Foundation, on diaspora, family-history, preservation, educational, and community initiatives.
The TransAtlantic Genealogy Summit is hosted by spanDNA Families, with support from the Edward A. Ulzen Memorial Foundation, Human Temple Therapeutics, and spanDNA PBC. Much of this work follows connections among Ghana, the American South, the Netherlands, and the wider diaspora. Adwoa's research contributed to the Elmina-Java Museum in Ghana.
